FlowersA flower is the reproductive structure of those plants classified as angiosperms (flowering plants; Division Magnoliophyta). The flower structure incorporates the reproductive organs, and its function is to produce seeds through sexual reproduction. For the higher plants, seeds are the next generation, and serve as the primary means by which individuals of a species are dispersed across the landscape. After fertilization, portions of the flower develop into a fruit containing the seed(s). (from Wikipedia)
1 Series - Part 7: Flowers - Fringed Dahlias (4 Cards to a Series)1 Series - Part 9: Flowers - Calendula and Lavender (4 Cards to a Series)This image was shot years ago at a B&B way up in Canada - they used all of their flowers for their food - and I might add - both of these flowers are very tasty! I do very little manipulation, but if I do - I claim it. I will use a filter or filters - but that's about the extent of it. The problem here: I don't remember how I did it! I wished I did because it really turned out to be quite a beautiful picture with an "impressionistic" look. When people buy this card, they generally want more than one because it IS so beautiful! Price: $12.50 1 Series - Part 6: Flowers - Five Tulips in Color (4 Cards to a Series)I shot these tulips so many years ago that I have completely forgotten what year it was. I also photographed them on black and white TMax film. I loved the black and white so much that I did it on slide film too! The black and white image has won me many competitions, but when I competed with them, they WERE chemical prints - ones made in my darkroom. But, alas, like most people today, there aren't too many chemical prints being made any more. I still have my darkroom and keep thinking that I'll go back in there one of these days and work.
